Glasriketskaffe – A Tribute in Every Cup

We are proud to introduce this year’s Glasriketskaffe.

This coffee is more than a flavour experience – it is a tribute to the place where we live and work. To the forests, the light, the craftsmanship and the people who make Glasriket what it is.

Origin: Mount Elgon, Uganda

This year’s Glasriketskaffe features beans from Mount Elgon in Uganda, specifically the Kapchorwa region at 1,900–2,200 meters above sea level.

Mount Elgon, an extinct volcano on the border to Kenya, is one of Uganda’s most renowned coffee regions. The high altitude, cool microclimate and fertile volcanic soil create ideal conditions for complex and expressive Arabica coffees.

The beans are grown by smallholder farmers and processed at the Kapchorwa Washing Station. Carefully handpicked ripe cherries are dried slowly on raised beds using the natural process, giving the coffee its rich body and fruit-forward character.

Flavour Profile

A medium roast with a full body and notes of dark berries and milk chocolate, followed by a fresh, wine-like finish.

A balanced and flavourful coffee, perfect for filter brewing, V60, French Press and Pour-Over.

Varieties: SL14 & SL28
Process: Natural
Region: Mount Elgon, Mbale, Kapchorwa

A Tribute to Glasriket

We have the privilege of living and working in the unique cultural and natural landscape known as Glasriket.

There are many similarities between the glassworks of this region and our small coffee roastery: craftsmanship, passion, creativity, warmth and a deep connection to Swedish cultural life.

Glasriketskaffe is dedicated to all those – past and present – who are passionate about preserving and shaping this special place. The creators, the enthusiasts, the people who keep the spirit alive.

Here, there is always time to pause. To share a cup of coffee. To connect through our shared love of coffee, craftsmanship and culture.

We hope you will share a cup of Glasriketskaffe with us.
