Specialty coffee refers to high-quality coffee that has been grown, harvested and processed with great care. The beans are evaluated by professional coffee tasters based on flavor, cleanliness and origin.
At our coffee roastery in Småland we work with specialty coffee from carefully selected producers and roast the beans in small batches to highlight the unique character of each coffee.
Freshly roasted coffee usually has more aroma and complexity because many of the natural flavors are still present. Over time some of these aromas gradually fade.
When you buy coffee from a roastery you often get beans that were roasted quite recently, which makes the coffee taste fresher and more vibrant.
Coffee beans should be stored in an airtight container in a cool and dark place. Avoid direct sunlight and moisture.
It is usually best to keep the coffee in its original bag or in a tightly sealed container and grind the beans just before brewing.
That depends on how you brew your coffee and which flavor profiles you prefer.
For filter coffee, a slightly lighter roast often works well, highlighting fruity and softer flavor notes.
For espresso, many people prefer a slightly darker roast that gives more body and sweetness in the cup.
If you are unsure, we are always happy to help you choose the right coffee when you visit our coffee roastery in Småland or order through our webshop.
