Elvakaffe – the classic brew from Småland is back

A whiff of nostalgia in every cup: Elvakaffe was a beloved fika coffee in the village of Skälsbäck, especially popular during the 1950s and 60s. It was often ground fresh in the local shop – or at home with a hand grinder – and enjoyed during the traditional 11 a.m. fika break.

The recipe comes from the old country store run by Gunborg and Knut Fransson between 1953 and 1968. Now, we’re bringing this classic coffee back – in a unique collaboration between Kickis Matvandring, TADAH coffee roastery, and Bengt Knutsson, Knut’s son.

The beans come from Colombia, Ethiopia, India and Brazil, and are medium roasted. The result is a lightly fruity coffee with notes of nuts and chocolate – a perfect fika coffee, whether it’s 11 a.m. or any other cozy coffee moment.
