More about this coffee:
Endebess Estate is located in Trans Nzoia County, northwestern Kenya, near the market town of Kitale. The farm covers a total of 758 hectares, 248 of which are dedicated to coffee cultivation. The coffee is grown at the foot of Mount Elgon – an extinct volcano that is part of the Rift Valley’s volcanic mountain chain.
This lot is naturally processed and dried slowly over 21–28 days on raised beds, where the beans are turned several times a day to ensure even drying. Water used during processing comes from the Koitobos River. The combination of altitude, climate, and soil gives the coffee its distinct fruitiness and depth.
Endebess Estate has a long-standing history dating back to the 1940s. The farm has long processed both its own coffee and that of neighboring smallholders. Today, it is owned by Kaitet Tea Plantations.
