Elvakaffe is back – with this spring's food walks
After the winter break, Kicki’s Food Walks are back in action, and with them, our joint project coffee, Elvakaffe, makes its comeback.
Elvakaffe was developed in collaboration with Kicki, with the idea of creating a flavorful, warming cup for the cherished breaks during her guided walks. The coffee is carefully selected and roasted to fit those quiet moments in nature – when conversations flow, legs rest, and the coffee tastes its absolute best.
During the season, participants in Kicki’s food walks will once again experience Elvakaffe as part of the whole experience – a coffee break with reflection, quality, and presence.
What is Elvakaffe?
Elvakaffe is a coffee deeply rooted in Småland’s tradition – and now making a comeback in a new form.
The name and inspiration come from “Fransson’s good Elvakaffe,” a popular coffee from Skälsbäck in Fagerhult that was served in homes and on coffee tables around the region during the 1950s and 1960s. The coffee was often ground in the shop – for boiling – or at home with a hand grinder. The recipe lived on through the general store run by Gunborg and Knut Fransson until 1968.
Thanks to a collaboration between Kicki’s Food Walks, TADAH Coffee Roastery, and Bengt Knutsson, we now have the opportunity to revive Elvakaffe – with respect for the original and a modern twist.
